You're being asked to make permanent financial decisions during the hardest year of your life, often without the information you'd need to make them well.

How we work with you

1

Discovery meeting

A free 30-minute conversation to see where you are and whether we're the right fit.

More

A 30-minute conversation, no cost and no obligation. You tell us where you are — considering it, just served, mid-negotiation, or already divorced — and we tell you honestly whether we can help. We'll explain how the financial side of divorce works and help you figure out whether we're the right fit.

2

Financial organization

One secure portal for your documents, shared with your attorney or CPA with your permission.

More

You get access to a secure, encrypted portal to gather and upload your financial documents. With your permission, your attorney, CPA, or others on your team can access it too — so you're not sending the same documents to four people.

3

Qualitative consultation

A conversation about what the numbers miss: what matters to you and what you want life to look like.

More

Numbers don't capture everything. We meet to talk through what the documents don't show: what matters to you, what you're afraid of, and what you want your life to look like in five years.

4

Case analysis

A plan built for your situation, with each option modeled over time.

More

We take everything you've given us and build a plan specific to your situation — modeling the options in front of you and what each one means over time.

5

Present & modify

Clear settlement scenarios to review with your attorney or mediator, adjusted as negotiations move.

More

You'll receive clear settlement scenarios to review with your attorney or mediator, with the financial consequences of each laid out. We adjust them as negotiations move.

6

Next chapter

Once the settlement is final, we help the plan become real life.

How we bring clarity

  • See your complete financial picture.

A complete inventory of assets, debts, income, and benefits — both spouses'. For many people this is the hardest part of divorce, particularly if one spouse handled the finances. It's also where hidden complexity surfaces: retirement accounts with pre-marital portions, unvested equity compensation, pensions, business interests.

  • Understand what each settlement option means.

A settlement that looks even on paper often isn't. We model the proposals on the table and show you how each plays out over five, ten, and twenty years — including the tax consequences, which are frequently the difference between two offers that appear identical. Keeping the house is the clearest example: we'll show you what carrying it actually costs against your post-divorce income before you commit.

  • Get the retirement, tax, and insurance details right.

Retirement accounts divided incorrectly cost real money and are difficult to fix afterward. We handle the analysis behind QDROs (Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, which are court orders used to divide certain retirement plans), apply coverture calculations (a method used to determine the portion of certain retirement benefits that may be considered marital) to pensions and equity compensation, review prior returns for filing-status and carryforward implications, and flag insurance and beneficiary issues that outlast the decree. We work alongside your attorney or mediator, who handles the law.

Every divorce option, one steady team.

We work with clients in every kind of divorce process, alongside whichever attorney, mediator, or other professionals you’ve chosen.

Mediation

A neutral mediator helps you and your spouse reach agreement directly. We provide the financial analysis so both of you are working from real numbers.

Flat-fee planning

A set retainer for a defined scope of divorce financial planning services, agreed upon before work begins.

Hourly consulting

Pay only for the time you need, with services billed based on the hours spent providing financial guidance and analysis.

Asset-based fees

An ongoing fee based on the assets managed when clients choose to engage us for continuing investment management and financial planning.

If you move forward, you'll receive a written agreement covering scope, fees, and timeline before any work begins.
